TERMS OF THE COMPETITION


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • This championship is open to two-person teams of female amateur golfers who are active NYSGA Members. 
  • To compete in the senior division, both teammates must be at least 50 years old as of July 31, 2023
  •  Golfers must have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index issued by their NYSGA member club.

 

ENTRY INFORMATION

  • Entries: Player must register online prior to the established deadline (see below). Entries by mail or fax will not be accepted. A player may only submit one entry. Any player found to have submitted more than one entry may be subject to disqualification.
  • Fee: $225 per team
  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Wednesday, July 19, 2023). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
  • Refund Policy: A portion of the entry fee, based on the schedule below, will be refunded regardless of reason if the NYSGA is notified (315-471-6979 or via email at deb@nysga.org): Prior to Deadline: Entry fee less $20. After the Deadline: Entry fee less $50.

 

FORMAT, DIVISIONS, HANDICAP ALLOWANCE & TIES

  • Format: This Championship will be conducted over 18 holes of four-ball stroke play. There will be a net and gross winner in each division (see below).
  • Divisions: There are two divisions in this Championship: the 5th NYS Women's Amateur (all ages) and Senior Amateur (ages 50+) Championship.
  • Handicap Allowances: Women will receive 85% of their Course Handicap.
  • Ties: In the event of a tie, a sudden-death playoff will be held immediately following play (gross only). All other ties will be broken using the USGA recommended method of matching scorecards.

 

SUBSTITUTIONS

All substitutions must be made by contacting NYSGA (champs@nysga.org).

  • Withdrawals prior to close of entries: When one of the players of a team is withdrawn, a player may add a new partner at any time prior to the close of entries. 
  • Withdrawals after close of entries: When one of the players of a team is withdrawn, BOTH players are withdrawn with a $350 refund. The remaining player will be able to re-apply with a new partner, and will be placed on either the confirmed player list or waitlist at the time of the new entry.

 

PRIZES

Trophies will be awarded to the gross and net champions in both divisions.

  • Amateur Division: White NYSGA Tees (Gold 5,557 yards)
  • Senior Amateur Division: Yellow NYSGA Tees (Red ~5,000 yards)

The availability and pricing of practice rounds are set at the discretion of the host club - contact for more information.

There is a player dinner immediately following the conclusion of play.
